Site Navigation Editing

To edit the site navigation click on Site Actions / Site Settings

Under the Look and Feel section click on Navigation

There will be four sections labeled Global Navigation, Current Navigation, Sorting, and Navigation Editing and Sorting.

The Global Navigation settings controls the main building website navigation.  This setting needs to remain set as it is so that website users have a common menu selection for the building website.

The Current Navigation settings controls the navigation for your website.  This setting should be setup for you already so that your navigation will show properly.

Navigation Editing and Sorting is what controls what text is displayed in your navigation menu, the order in which it is displayed, and what page each item is linked to.  This provides a section of links that will display on every page in your website.  Use it for important links that need to always be displayed.

Most entries will be "Heading" but if you want to include some indentation you can use a "Link" that is grouped and placed under a heading.

Adding A Heading

To add a heading click on "Add Heading".  In the dialog window that appears enter the text you want displayed in the navigation area in the text box labeled "Title".

Click on "Browse..." to locate the prewritten page that you will be linking to.

The Description text box is where you can enter text that will be displayed when the website visitor hovers over the link before clicking on it.

When finished click OK to return to the main Navigation editing page.  Before leaving this page be sure to click on OK to save your changes. If you do not click OK your changes will not be saved.
