About Me

This is my fifth year teaching at Shelton High School. I was born in Spain, and I have been living in the States for over 20 years. I got my undergraduate degree in marine sciences at the University of Las Palmas, Spain, as well as a master's degree in marine ecology from the University of Washington. Before I became a science teacher, I have worked for local and foreing state agencies doing above water and underwater marine research. I earned my Teaching Certificate from the Tacoma Branch of the University of Washington in 2007.
I live in Olympia with my husband and 15-year-old daughter. We enjoy walking on the beach and going for swims when the weather allows. We also like to canoe, hike in the mountains, and going for bike rides. I also enjoy dancing flamenco, a typical dance style from the south of Spain. We will have a flamenco workshop during the year, with guest speakers and dancers. Olé!

I enjoy teaching very much, and I am looking forward to a great year!
